The Foresight Research Fellowship is designed for ambitious students committed to rigorous research in international affairs, geopolitics, and global strategy.

What Fellows Do

The Foresight Fellowship is a structured, multi-level research and policy training program designed to nurture the next generation of thinkers in international relations, foreign policy, and global affairs. We provide a collaborative, mentored environment where students transform research into impactful public knowledge—through policy briefs, intelligence reporting, podcasts, and high-quality publications.

Our Mission

• Bridge the gap between young researchers and global experts, policymakers, and analysts through high-quality, impactful content.
• Empower students to showcase their research and podcast content on international relations and policy.
• Create a community of budding IR and FP researchers and sharpen their research skills.

Fellowship Structure

• The program is offered in three progressive levels, allowing fellows to grow from foundational research skills to leadership in global policy discourse.

Research Fellow (Budding Expert)

Duration: 3 months

Eligibility: Open to postgraduate students with an interest in global affairs.

Objective: Introduce students to the fundamentals of international relations research and policy analysis.

Skills to Build:

- Structuring a Policy Brief

- Turning Research into Public Writing

- Regional & Thematic Area Studies

- Academic writing

- Communication strategies

- OSINT tools & methods

- Critical thinking

Structure: 3-month guided fellowship with daily mentorship, research assignments, and introductory podcast training, giving research fellows a digital ID.

Outcome: Fellows publish select outputs, and build a foundational research portfolio.

Research Fellow (Expert I)

Duration: 6 months

Eligibility: Completion of Budding Experts fellowship or equivalent academic experience (open to postgraduates with an interest in global affairs).

Objective: Deepen analytical and research capabilities through advanced engagement with global policy issues.

Skills to Build:

- Data analysis

- Policy evaluation

- Professional presentation

- Conferences & publication

Structure: 6-month fellowship focusing on independent research projects, peer collaboration, and podcast co-hosting.
Outcome: Fellows publish in Foresight Research Papers, feature in podcasts, and develop a professional research portfolio.

Senior Research Fellow (Expert II)

Duration: 6 months

Eligibility: Completion of Expert or demonstrated expertise in international relations.

Objective: Position fellows as thought leaders contributing original insights to international policy discourse.

- Strategic foresight

- Media production

- Expert communication

- Personal branding

Structure: 6-month advanced fellowship emphasizing leadership, mentorship of junior fellows, and high-impact publications.
Outcome: host expert interviews, and gain recognition as emerging voices in global policy.
